The uniform patrol division is the largest and most visible of the four divisions within the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies answer more than 50,000 calls for help annually with an average response time of ten minutes or less, which is nearly twice as fast as the national average. While constantly working with other divisions, the uniform patrol division contributes to the continued reduction of the most serious crimes in Catoosa County by 35% since 2015.
Deputies are on duty patrolling 162 square miles 24-hours a day, every day. They are the first responders to a variety of threats to life and property including crimes in progress and traffic accidents, and are often the first to arrive at medical emergencies, fires and natural disasters. They have some of the best tools available, including specialized fire extinguishers for vehicle fires, AEDs, first aid equipment and advanced communication technologies in each patrol vehicle.
In addition to rapid 911 response, deputies work proactively to prevent crimes from happening in the first place and ensure the welfare of our neighbors. This includes neighborhood watch for extra patrols and vacation checks, the senior citizen’s program and Stocking Full of Love. Specialized teams within the uniform patrol division work with the support from our community partners. They include traffic enforcement, K-9, family violence, training, school resource officers and court services.
The uniform patrol division is under the command of Captain James Stockard, with lieutenants and ranking deputies on his leadership team.
