Captain Jeremy Keener is the commander of the criminal investigation division, which works 24/7 to identify and help capture people suspected of crimes, recover property and follow up on tips from citizens to solve and prevent crime. Investigators use a combination of traditional methods and advanced technologies to achieve the best possible results. They work in teams for general investigation of unsolved crimes, narcotics violations and child crimes.
General investigation deputies solve crimes against people and property including homicide, assault, rape, missing persons, robbery, theft, fraud and financial crimes. Investigators working to solve narcotic and child crimes often work with investigators from a variety of partnering agencies at the local, state and federal levels.
